Becoming Nightwise is a small group photography workshop designed for anyone who doesn’t yet feel fully confident photographing at night. Through guided learning, experimentation and a photo shoot after dark, you’ll discover the foundations of night and aurora photography and begin making more confident choices with your camera. With calm, attentive support throughout the day and into the night, you’ll begin making sense of the concepts, settings and decisions involved in photographing after dark. You’ll leave with practical knowledge, creative spark and a sense of wonder that draws you back to the night sky. Even if an aurora doesn’t appear, you’ll gain skills that open the door to new photographic possibilities – because becoming nightwise is about understanding light and making confident choices when those glowing moments arrive. What to expect: ◊ Gentle explanations of key camera settings ◊ Guided experiments exploring how your camera responds to light ◊ An un-hurried, encouraging learning environment ◊ A twilight-to-night photo shoot to apply what you’ve learned ◊ Individual guidance in a supportive small group setting You’ll get the most from this experience if you’re still building confidence in low-light photography or developing your understanding of manual camera settings. It's especially for you if: ◊ You're unsure about how shutter speed, aperture and ISO work together ◊ You're keen to move beyond trial and error ◊ You appreciate a gentle pace with space to ask questions ◊ You'd like to photograph the night sky or aurora but don’t really know where to begin If you already feel confident using manual settings and understand what works, what doesn’t and why, this workshop may not be the best fit. 📷 IMPORTANT ⁉️ Does your camera allow full control over your settings? Payment, Amendments and Cancellation
Experience-specific terms and conditions – SMALL GROUP WORKSHOPS Deposit and Final Payment Full payment is required at the time of booking; payment is accepted via credit card or bank transfer. Minimum group size Our small group workshops require a minimum number of participants to proceed. If this number is not reached, the workshop may be cancelled or rescheduled. We will confirm this no later than 10 days before the scheduled date. If we cancel or reschedule the workshop, you’ll receive a full refund or have the option to transfer your booking to another date or experience at no additional cost. AMENDMENTS & CANCELLATIONS to bookings for small group workshops If you AMEND your booking • You may reschedule to a later date or transfer to another Shutterbug Walkabouts experience at any time up to and including 15 days before your booked date at no additional cost. • If you reschedule your booking between 14 days and 72 hours before the scheduled start time, or transfer to a different workshop or experience, a fee of 20% of the participation fee will apply. The remaining balance will be transferred to the new workshop date or experience as a deposit. Any difference in price must be paid, and the booking terms and conditions will reset with the new booking. • Within 72 hours of the scheduled start time, rescheduling or transfer is not available and the no refund cancellation policy applies. If you CANCEL your booking: • 15 or more days’ notice – a fee of 20% of the participation fee will apply.
