Paused by a moon boot

Here's a little personal update from me.
While guiding a day tour recently I had an unfortunate mishap and broke my ankle! Thankfully it is my left ankle and on the day I was able to continue driving because our tour vehicle is an automatic - phew. The guests I was with were wonderfully understanding and together we helped ensure the day finished smoothly.
Guiding involves quite a bit of walking in nature, so I’m taking things in my (restricted) stride and giving my ankle the time it needs to heal properly. For now this means stepping back from active photography experiences until I’m able to return and lead them in the way they’re intended.
Nature has a way of reminding us to slow down from time to time. For now I’ll take the hint and look forward to returning to the trail soon.

For the next few weeks, I'm certainly not able to balance on my left leg. Instead, I'm getting around with a very fashionable moon boot - which at the moment is supported (hopefully not for long though) by a set of crutches too. Needless to say this has slowed me down considerably, so all guiding activities are paused until my ankle is healed and I'm able to walk comfortably and securely again.
The good news from the doctor is that it’s a straightforward fracture. I’ll be in the moon boot for around six weeks, followed by physiotherapy while the ankle regains strength.
Seated tuition sessions and tutorials can still be arranged during this time. While I’m recovering however, these will need to take place a little closer to where I am based (Kingston/Margate area, just south of Hobart).
I’ve rescheduled my Bird Photography workshops, which will now take place on 9th & 10th May. Other small group workshops and Women’s Photography Escapes will be rescheduled once I have a clearer timeline for my recovery - and I look forward to hosting these again soon.
Thank you for your patience and support. I’m already looking forward to the day I can trade the moon boot for my usual walking boots again.
