Scroll down for a detailed summary. •◊•◊•◊• Maria Island is a perfect setting for an unhurried day to explore striking landscapes, diverse habitats, intriguing geological formations and an abundance of endearing wildlife. Wombats, kangaroos, pademelons, echidnas and bandicoots roam freely through grassland, bushland and coastal environments, where abundant birdlife also flit, soar and forage. Nestled within the landscape are historic remnants that reflect the island’s long and varied past – from its significance to Tasmania’s First Peoples for thousands of years to colonial settlement and its role today as a protected national park. On this day, we walk at a relaxed pace, pausing often to discover, experience and photograph. From the swirling sandstone patterns of Painted Cliffs to the ancient marine fossils at Fossil Cliffs, there’s no shortage of inspiration. This is a day designed for photo enthusiasts – whether you bring a DSLR, mirrorless camera or smartphone – with plenty of time to thoughtfully compose images or capture spontaneous moments. As the day comes to a close, you’ll carry meaningful memories and photos of a fulfilling day spent exploring Maria Island’s landscapes, wildlife and history. •◊•◊•◊• TOUR SUMMARY • Duration: 11-12 hours • Recommended 6.30am departure • Private tour for 1–4 guests, priced by group size • Ideal for outdoorsy photographers and non-photographers – or a mix of both • Door-to-door service – private return transport from your Hobart hotel or arranged location • Option for self-drivers to start and end the tour in Sorell or Orford, or meet at the Triabunna Visitor Centre (ferry terminal) • This day out is not suitable as a cruise ship shore excursion • INCLUDES private transport and guide, passenger ferry fares, national park entry, guided walks, photography guidance, snacks and drinking water • Lunch is additional – a packed lunch will be pre-ordered and collected on the day, with payment made by you at the time of collection. Individual chiller bags are supplied to carry your lunch with you. NB: Expect to walk around 10–12 km (less if you prefer) on gently undulating trails with no steep inclines. Our pace is unhurried, with plenty of rest breaks, photography stops and wildlife encounters. Be prepared for exposure to the elements, as shelter is limited on the island.
Payment, Amendments and Cancellation
Our standard Booking Terms and Conditions, including amendments and cancellations, are always available to view at www.shutterbugwalkabouts.com.au/booking-terms-and-conditions (you’ll also find a link in the footer of every page on our website). •◊•◊•◊• TERMS FOR PHOTOGRAPHY DAY OUT BOOKINGS •◊• PAYMENT • A $250 deposit is required to confirm your booking • Balance is due 45 days before the booked date • Full payment is required for all bookings made less than 45 days before the booked date. •◊• AMENDMENTS • A $50 amendment fee may apply to changes made to your booking. • Non-recoverable experience partner costs associated with your original booking may also apply, along with any additional costs for the new arrangements. •◊• CANCELLATION • 46 or more days before the booked date - You may choose to receive either: • Full travel credit of payments to date, less any non-refundable experience partner costs (if they apply) OR • Refund of payments to date. Non-refundable experience partner costs and an administration fee equal to 7.5% of the total experience cost will be deducted. • 45 to 15 days (inclusive) before the booked date - You will incur a cancellation fee equal to 20% of the total experience cost plus any non-recoverable experience partner costs. • 14 or fewer days before the booked date – or in the case of a no-show – 100% of total experience cost, no refund or travel credit available •◊•◊•◊• If we need to amend your booking for any unforeseen operational reason, agreed changes will be made with no additional cost to you. If we need to cancel your booking for any unforeseen operational reason, we will offer you a voucher or refund of the full amount paid (no deductions). •◊•◊•◊•
