A Snapshot of this Experience
Embark on an unforgettable Photography Day Out on the Tasman Peninsula, where nature’s splendour intertwines with the haunting echoes of Tasmania’s convict history. Departing Hobart, we travel to the Coal Mines Historic Site, a poignant remnant of Tasmania’s harsh convict past. Nestled within a serene coastal forest and bordered by the tranquil waters of Little Norfolk Bay, the ruins of this site offer a striking contrast between nature and history, creating countless photo-worthy moments. With ample time to explore, you’ll uncover a variety of perspectives offering endless ways to frame your shots. Bird photographers will be delighted by the abundant native birdlife – pardalotes flit among the ruins, raptors soar overhead and parrots dart through the forest; all joined by wrens, thornbills, robins and more. After leaving the historic site, we’ll continue our journey to explore some of the most awe-inspiring coastal scenery in the southern hemisphere. Towering sea cliffs and intriguing rock formations have endured forces of wind and water, creating an array of photographic opportunities. Each natural feature presents a distinctive photographic opportunity, from textured rock formations to sweeping coastal views. The Tessellated Pavement, with its captivating geometric patterns, is a highlight not to be missed. However, the decision to visit Tasman Arch, Devil’s Kitchen, The Blowhole, or Remarkable Cave will be made on the day. At a relaxed pace, you’ll have ample time to truly absorb and photograph the stunning surroundings. The peninsula is home to a diverse range of native animals, so we’ll also keep an eye out for native wildlife. We may spot a wallaby or an echidna, offering yet another perfect moment to capture. After a day of leisurely photography, we’ll make our way back to Hobart, where you’ll carry with you both a collection of unique images and unforgettable memories of the Tasman Peninsula’s natural beauty.
