Tasman Peninsula Photography Day Out

A captivating day discovering the Tasman Peninsula’s dramatic coastlines, historic places & wildlife

A Snapshot of this Experience

This private full-day tour runs for around 9–10 hours, with door-to-door service and photography guidance included. Scroll down for a detailed summary. •◊•◊•◊• The Tasman Peninsula is a place where nature’s coastal grandeur intertwines with echoes of Tasmania’s past – from the enduring connection of Tasmania’s First Nations people to the convict and colonial eras that followed. The layers of history can still be felt today, adding depth to the dramatic landscapes we explore. On this day out, we'll spend time at the Coal Mines Historic Site where convict ruins are framed by coastal forest and Little Norfolk Bay. As we wander the grounds you'll discover countless perspectives for your photos, ranging from close-ups of weathered stone walls to wide, panoramic landscapes and more in between. You might like to focus on the abundant birdlife – pardalotes are often seen flitting among the ruins and raptors frequently soar overhead. There are parrots, wrens, thornbills, robins and more making frequent appearances too. So there's plenty of opportunity to capture both historic and natural wonders in this single setting. We'll also pause at Tessellated Pavement with its unique geometric patterns, Maingon Bay and Remarkable Cave. Then if time allows, Tasman Arch and Devil’s Kitchen too. Each location offers distinctive perspectives and endless opportunities to photograph Tasmania’s dramatic coastline. Our unhurried pace gives you space to immerse in your surroundings and thoughtfully compose each image - or simply capture spontaneous snapshots of the scenery and fleeting moments along the way. As the day draws to a close, we’ll return to Hobart with minds and memory cards filled with a collection of photos and stories to remember your day exploring the Tasman Peninsula. •◊•◊•◊• TOUR SUMMARY • Duration: 9–10 hours • Recommended 8:00am departure – flexible on request • Private tour for 1–4 guests, priced by group size • Ideal for outdoorsy photographers and non-photographers – or a mix of both • Door-to-door service – private return transport from your Hobart hotel or arranged location • Cruise excursions tailored to ship schedules, departing from and returning to Hobart cruise terminal • INCLUDES private transport and guide, guided nature walks, photography guidance, national park entry, light refreshments and drinking water • Lunch is additional – a picnic lunch will be pre-ordered and collected on the day, with payment made by you at the time of collection
